Online booking
Patients book when it suits them.
Around half of booking attempts happen outside office hours — if you give patients the chance. I build booking systems that know your schedule rules and send the reminders by themselves.
When the phone is the bottleneck.
In most practices, booking still happens by phone — and that's bad for both sides.
Reception spends half the day on calls
Booking, rescheduling, cancelling — all by phone. The patient sitting in front of the desk gets less attention, and callers who can't reach you book with a competitor.
No-shows eat your revenue
One missed appointment is 30-60 minutes of lost chair time. At 8-10 no-shows a month — completely normal without reminders — that's the revenue of a major treatment, gone.
No booking outside office hours
Patients want to sort out appointments in the evening or on weekends, but all they get is voicemail. By the time you call back, many have gone elsewhere.
The calendar and patient records don't talk
Bookings live in one system, patient data in another. Reception reconciles by hand, and the occasional double booking slips through.
Here's what I build for you.
You don't get a generic calendar widget — you get a booking system built on your practice's rules, broken down by chair, dentist and treatment type.
24/7 online booking
Patients book from your website, choosing treatment type and dentist. The system only offers genuinely free slots and blocks exactly as much time as the treatment needs.
SMS and email reminders
Automatic reminders 48 and 24 hours before the appointment, with one-click confirmation. This alone typically cuts no-shows by half to two-thirds.
Self-service rescheduling and cancellation
Patients cancel or move their own appointments within your rules — say, up to 24 hours in advance. Freed-up slots are offered to patients on the waiting list automatically.
Schedules, chairs and time off
Multiple dentists, multiple chairs, different consulting hours, holidays — the system knows all of it, so no booking can be created that wouldn't work in reality.
Reception dashboard
Phone bookings go into the same calendar the online system uses. One calendar, not two — double bookings disappear.
Patient record integration
If you have a patient CRM (or I build that too), every booking links straight to the patient's chart.
What does it cost?
An MVP of a practice-tailored booking system is live in a few weeks. The one-off development fee is often in the range of 1-2 years of booking-app subscriptions — except there's no per-booking commission, and you own the system.
